How can I change the type of security?

By default, Sitecom routers are protected by WPA2 security and are equipped with a unique WPA2 password.
You can change the security settings, if required, in your router's Settings menu (Graphical User Interface). The device (desktop PC, notebook, tablet) you use to access the Settings menu must be connected to the router. This can be either a wired or a wireless connection. Carry out the following steps:

1. Open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Safari.
2. Type the following address in the address bar http://sitecom.router (or http://192.168.0.1) and press Enter.

3. Log in with your username and password. For the user name, enter admin (lowercase). The password (WPA2 code) can be found in the Network Login Details flyer that may have been supplied or on the bottom of the router.

4. Select the 2.4GHz tab.

5. Select Security. If you have a dual-band router, you also have the option of selecting the 5 GHz Wi-Fi tab and changing the type of security for your 5 GHz network.

6. Here, for Encryption, you can select various security methods. You can choose from WEP, WPA Pre-Shared Key or WPA RADIUS. We recommend, however, that you continue to use WPA2 (WPA Pre-Shared Key), as it is the latest security standard with the most comprehensive protection.

If, nonetheless, you wish to change the type of security, bear in mind that you will also need to change this on the devices that connect to your router.
